ISO 14001 Certified
Precision UK is pleased to confirm the renewal of our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification.
This recertification reflects the ongoing processes we have in place to manage and reduce our environmental impact in a structured, measurable, and independently audited way.
Rather than being a one-off achievement, ISO 14001 is about continuous environmental improvement.
The standard sets out a framework that helps organisations identify, monitor, and reduce their environmental footprint across areas such as energy use, waste generation, water consumption, and resource efficiency.
What ISO 14001 Means in Practice
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems.
At its core, it requires organisations to:
- Identify the environmental aspects of their operations
- Assess and manage environmental risks and impacts
- Set measurable objectives for improvement
- Monitor performance against those objectives
- Continuously improve environmental performance over time
For Precision UK, this means environmental considerations are built into operational decision-making, rather than treated as a separate or occasional initiative.
It also means our systems are independently audited, ensuring accountability and consistency in how we approach sustainability.
Our Impact So Far…
Over the last three years, we have been working steadily to reduce our environmental impact across several key areas of operations.
Throughout this period, our operational improvements have achieved significant reduction in gas consumption, cardboard waste, water usage, and waste brass usage.
We have also been actively switching to electric vehicles across our company fleet and introduced a robotic air testing system for our Medical Gas Outlets, which has both increased leak detection accuracy and reduced water usage.
A Note on Progress and Responsibility
While these changes demonstrate positive movement, we recognise that sustainability is not a fixed goal or a completed project.
It is an ongoing responsibility that requires regular review, adjustment, and, at times, difficult decisions.
We are not claiming to have fully solved the challenges associated with our environmental impact.
There are still areas where improvement is needed, and there will always be more to do as standards evolve and expectations increase.
Looking Ahead
With the new and updated changes announced in April for ISO 14001:2026, organisations will be expected to demonstrate deeper integration of environmental considerations into core strategy, as well as more transparent reporting and verification of impact.
For Precision UK, this next phase is not being approached as a compliance exercise alone, but as an opportunity to further strengthen how we operate and reduce our environmental impact for the long term.
We’re not perfect, and we know more progress is needed.
So, our focus will remain on practical, measurable improvements rather than broad claims or short-term initiatives.
The renewal of our ISO 14001 certification is an important milestone, but it is only part of a longer journey.
We remain committed to improving step by step, with transparency about both progress and limitations, and with a focus on meaningful, measurable change over time.
